IIP candidate says results do not represent our share

NINEWA / IraqiNews.com: A candidate of the Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP) list in Mosul on Friday said that the percentage of seats his list got does not represent its real share, noting that his list seeks to cooperate with other members in the council to serve the province. “The seats which the Iraqi Islamic Party list won do not represent our real share,” Yehya Abd Mahjoub told IraqiNews.com news agency. He expressed his list’s happiness for the wide participate by the citizens in the Mosul elections. “We will cooperate with everyone on the coming stage to serve the province and citizens,” he asserted. The IIP list, led by Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi, garnered 3 seats out of the 37-seat council in Mosul. Al-Hadbaa List won 19 out of al 37 seats in the Ninewa provincial council while the Ninewa Fraternal List won 12 seats, according to the Independent High Electoral Commission on Thursday. “The Iraqi Islamic Party obtained three seats while each of the Christians, Shabaks and Yazidis,” the IHEC said in a press conference held on Thursday.
