Iran bombs populated Iraqi border villages

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: The Kurdish local authorities of Soran Qadha, Arbil, declared that the Iranian bombings of border villages continued into today, and covered populated areas in Seedkan, north of Arbil.   The shelling resulted in overall panic in the area, likely related to the death of one woman and wounding of two civilians in yesterday’s bombing.   Karmang Izzat, Soran’s head official, said , in a telephone call with IraqiNews.com, that a new group of villagers have begun migrating from their areas.   The anti-Iranian PJAK party announced yesterday its desire for a ceasefire, if Iran positively responded, according to a party statement.   It added that its desire was due to friend’s demands and mediations with the Iranian government.   Iraqi bordering areas have been suffering from Iranian and Turkish artillery and jet shelling for the last few weeks, which have led to several casualties and material losses, in addition to hundreds who have immigrated from their areas and homes.   NGOs  called on the Iraqi and Kurdish governments to press Iran to stop its shelling and respect Iraqi sovereignty.
