Iran warns from attempt to divide Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Spokeswoman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Marziyeh Afkham, warned about attempts to divide Iraq, and denied that the Iranian government supplied Iraq with warplanes to fight terrorism.

IraqiNews.com had reported Iran’s supply of attack planes to Iran and included video here: http://www.iraqinews.com/baghdad-politics/video-iran-sends-iraq-sukhoi-su-25-jets/ in addition to a report about the death of an Iranian pilot who was killed fighting in Iraq here: http://www.iraqinews.com/baghdad-politics/urgent-iranian-pilot-killed-fighting-iraq/

The spokeswoman of the Iranian Foreign Ministrystated in a press statement “The Islamic Republic of Iran dissuades the Kurdish separatists from raising such slogans and that Iran support the Iraqi territorial integrity and national sovereignty.”

She said “The Iraqi disintegration will not benefit anybody and there is no consensus about disintegration of Iraq among the Iraqi nation and the Iraqi Constitution as the legal foundation for national sovereignty and territorial integrity of Iraq.”

“Integrated and strong Iraq would definitely play stronger role in the region. ˈSo we hope that all groups and parties will take the important issue into consideration,” she concluded.
