Iranian Consulate denies reports over decreasing Iranian pilgrims heading to Karbala

Karbala (IraqiNews.com) The Iranian Consulate in Karbala province denied decrease in the numbers of the Iranian visitors heading to the Holy Shrines in the province because of the Iranian currency crisis.

Certain source in the Consulate stated to IraqiNews.com “Karbala receives 5,000 Iranian pilgrims per day,” noting that “It is a normal number for years.”

“There are agreements with the Karbala local government to regulate the entry of the Iranian visitors to the province,” the source added.

It is worth o mention that Iran is experiencing currently a significant decrease in the price of its currency if compared with the currencies of other countries.
