Iranian Foreign Minister in Baghdad for an officicial visit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iran’s Foreign Minister, Ali Akbar Salehy, has arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday, on an oofficial visit, after which he conferred with his Iraqi Counterpart, Hoshiar Zibary, an Iraqi Foreign Ministry source said.   “Iraq’s Foreign Minister, Hoshiar Zibary, has conferred with his Iranian Counterpart, after the latter’s arrival in Baghad on an official visit, aimed at developing bilateral relations between the two countries,” he source told IraqiNews.com news agency.   Noteworthy is that the said visit was the second visit by Salehy to Baghdad, since his assignment as Iran’s Foreign Minister, in succession to Manoushehr Muttaqi.   Salehy is born in Karbala city in Iraq and had lived for a long period in north Baghdad‘s Kadhimiya district.. He had met President Jalal Talabani, Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki and Foreign Minister Zibary during his previous visit on January last.   He had also visited the city of Najaf, where he met Grand Ayatollah, Ali al-Sistani, after meeting Ayatollahs, Mohammed Saeed al-Hakim, Bashir al-Najafy and Sheikh Is’haq al-Fayadh.
