Iranian support for Iraq creates sense of brotherhood, says MoD
(IraqiNews.com) The Iranian support for Iraq has created a sense of brotherhood between the two countries, Minister of Defense Khaled al-Obeidi told Iranian news agency ‘Fars’ on Monday.
Obeidi stated for the Iranian news agency Fars, “The Iranian comprehensive support for Iraq has created an excellent sense of brotherhood between the two nations.”
Obeidi expressed Iraq’s desire to develop the relations between the two countries. “We’re seeking for more cooperation with Iran as we consider the Iranian support for the Iraqi Army strategically necessary.”
“The Iranian position for supporting Iraq is very great and it has shown the real willingness and honesty of Iran,” Obeidi added.
Earlier today, Iraqi Minister of Defense, Khalid al-Ubaidi, headed to Iran on an official visit to discuss the bilateral relations with his counterpart.
