Iraqi Embassy in London denies reports its official had sold invitation tickets of the British Royal Marriage

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Embassy in London has denied a press report, published on an electronic site on Monday, claiming that the Embassy’s Cultural Attache had sold invitation tickets, addressed to the Embassy, to attend the British Royal Marriage celebration.   “The invitation was addressed for the chairmen of the diplomatic missions in the United Kingdom , and not to three Iraqi Embassy staff only, whose the Acting Iraqi Charge d’affaires, had attended the said celebration,” the Embassy said in its denial statement.   “The measures for the British Royal Marriage had taken place on a high degree of protocol and organization, thing that did not allow the attendance of any body, but the invited person, whose name was being checked, before attending the celebration,” the Embassy statement stressed.   The Embassy had also denied “the report, claiming that an invitation had been addressed to the former Iraqi Military Attache, whose mission had ended two years ago and had left the United Kingdom for Iraq since that date.”   The Iraqi Embassy had also expressed “strong anxiety for the media fabrication that took place within the said report, because it lacked delicacy and accuracy, aimed at harming Iraq ’s goodwill and its missions abroad.”   Several electronic sites had published a report that the Iraqi Embassy in London had sold invitation cards, addressed to the Embassy, to attend the Royal British Marriage celebration that took place recently, for the marriage of Britain ’s Prince William with Kate Middleton.   SKH (RT) 513
