Iraqi government approves draft-law on freedom of opinion, Spokesman says

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq ’s Council of Ministers has approved on Tuesday a draft-law on “Freedom of Expression, Meeting and Peaceful Demonstration,” the State Minister and Spokesman for the Iraqi government, Ali al-Dabbagh said.   Dabbagh also said that the Council of Ministers, had also agreed on “the draft-law to abolish the Power of the (U.S.-led) Alliance , and passing both draft-laws to the Parliament for promulgation.”   “The Council had also approved a draft-law that the Political Prisoners Institution to shoulder half of the costs for Mecca Pilgrimage costs for political prisoners,” he added.   He said another decision was issued by the Council of Ministers to “exempt a French company from a decision banning dealing with it to import spare parts for the State Company for Petrochemical Industries and the Southern State Company for the Manufacture of Fertilizers, for US$5 millions.”   SKH (ST)
