Iraqi government criticizes decision of Turkish parliament to allow Turkish Army to pass Iraqi territories

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi government criticized the decision of the Turkish parliament to allow the Turkish Army to pass the Iraqi territories to follow the elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party.

The spokesperson of the Iraqi government, Ali al-Dabbagh, stated in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday “The Council of Ministers, during its 34th regular meeting, discussed the decision of the Turkish parliament over allowing the Turkish Army to pass the Iraqi borders to follow the elements of the PKK which is considered a violation to the sovereignty of Iraq.”

“The CoM condemns this decision which contradicts with the principles of the neighborhood and making good relations between the two countries where it rejects any existence to the military troops in the Iraqi territories for chasing any opposing elements, calling the Turkish parliament to cancel this decision,” he concluded.
