Iraqi Human Rights Ministry voices concern

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The Iraqi Ministry of Human Rights denounced today the latest terrorist attacks against civilians in Baghdad and Kirkuk, where tens of casualties took place, expressing its concern for the continued attempts of prisoners to escape. “We denounce the criminal and terrorist acts aimed at all Iraqis, in different segments, nationalities and religions,” the Ministry statement, a copy of which was received by IraqiNews.com, noted. The statement criticized the means of “killing by weapons equipped with silencers, sticky bombs, and booby-trapped cars.” “These acts contradict the sayings of religious orders that call for brotherhood, sacrifice, non-violence and dissemination of peace,” the statement added. The Ministry evaluated the efforts made by the security forces and their sacrifices to preserve security, order and crime eradication. At the same time, it called for further intelligence work to preserve the human rights in safe living according to heavenly messages, international accords stipulated in the International Declaration of Human Rights and the Civil and Political Accord.   Last Thursday, Kirkuk was hit by three massive explosions that led to the death of 27 citizens and injuring 90 more. On the other side, Baghdad was hit today with a series of explosions that killed 13 people and injured 74, according to security sources. The Ministry called on all governmental authorities to lay down the legislations, political policies, and strategic plans to prevent crime and the treatment of the criminals. In the statement, the Ministry expressed its deep concern for the continued escape of prisoners and convicted criminals from prisons and detention centers. It called to conduct honest and unbiased administrative and judicial investigations, and to bring the culprits involved in these violent acts to justice according to the law.
