KARBALA / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s National Coalition, led by Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki, has nominated Ibrahim al-Lamy, a staff in Maliki’s Commander-in-Chief’s Office, for the post of Interior Minister, An Alliance’s Legislature said on Tuesday.   “Four names had been selected as candidates of the National Coalition for the Interior Minister’s post, including Ibrahim al-Lamy, who holds the post of Deputy Secretary of the Commander-in-Chief’s Office, among whom Lamy won the candidacy of the Coalition,” Fuad al-Dorky told IraqiNews.com news agency.   He said that Lamy was chosen among the four candidates, due to his “independence” and non-membership of any political party, a condition set by the government for the candidates of the security ministers posts in the new cabinet, including the Interior, Defense and National Security ministers, that are still vacant in the new cabinet, led by Prime Minister Maliki.   Karbala is 108 km to the south of Baghdad.
