Iraq’s National Coalition MP charges al-Iraqiya Leader with acting against Constitution

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A legislature in Iraq ’s National Coalition has charged al-Iraqiya Coalition’s Leader, Iyad Allawi, with acting against the Constitution, considering his recent statements as an attempt to “achieve political gains.”   “The media escalation by the Leader of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, aims at achieving political gains,” Hussen al-Assadi told IraqiNews.com news agency, adding that “Allawi’s statements is not accepted and shall be reflected passively in the Iraqi street and the security situation as well.”   Al-Iraqiya Coalition had held a news conference last Friday, during which its Leader, Iyad Allawi, said that “any dialogue with the State of Law Coalition, (led by Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki), was considered as a ‘loss of time,’ threatening to withdraw from the political process, if Arbil Agreement, based on the initiative of north Iraq’s Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani, won’t be implemented.   “The National Coalition had committed itself to the Arabil Agreement, but going through some details, had made it clear that the other party, represented by al-Iraqiya Leader, Iyad Allawi, stands counter to the constitution,” he said.   Noteworthy is that Kurdistan President, Massoud Barzani, had launched an initiative to settle the political crisis on 16/9/2010, comprising the formation of an 8-12-member committee, representing different political blocs to resume talks to settle their suspended differences and discuss the formation of a government of national-partnership.   SKH (RT) 435
