Iraq’s PM receives phone call from U.S. Vice-Presi?dent

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, has received a phone call from U.S. Vice-President, Jo Biden, during which both sides discussed the implementation of the Security Agreement concluded between both countries, as well as the current development in the Region.   “Maliki has received a phone call on Wednesday night from U.S. Vice-President, Jo Biden, in which they discussed viewpoints about the current developments in the Region and issues of joint interest and cooperation horizons between both countries in all fields,” a Prime Minister’s office statement reported.   Both sides also discussed the expansion of future cooperation between Iraq and the United States, after the withdrawal of the U.S. forces from Iraq at the end of current year.   The phone call took place after the arrival of U.S. Defense Secretary, Robert Gates, to Baghdad on an official visit.   SKH (ST) 836
