Iraq’s PM to attend Parliament’s session Monday

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, is to attend the Parliament’s session on Monday to answer questions related to the delay to settle the security cabinet posts till now, a legislature said on Sunday.   “The Parliament shall invite Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki on Monday, to answer questions related to the delay of the announcement of candidates for the security cabinet posts, and probably the names of personalities nominated for those posts would be announced in the session,” MP Ali Shilah from the National Coalition told IraqiNews.com news agency. Shilah said that “the State of Law Coalition had met on Saturday to evaluate the demands of demonstrators and confirm necessity to implement them,” reaffirming that “agreement had been reached among different political blocs to reach a common viewpoint to appoint personalities to lead the provinces, based on their vocational levels.” Most Iraqi provinces had witnessed protest demonstrations against the deterioration of public services, demanding political reforms, ending corruption and unemployment.   A number of demonstrators have been killed and others, including security men, have been injured in clashes between both sides during those demonstrations.
