Iraq’s VP, Arab League SG, discuss Baghdad’s Arab Summit

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq’s President Tareq al-Hashimi and visiting Arab League‘s Secretary General, Amru Moussa, have discussed Iraq’s preparations to host the forthcoming Arab Summit, scheduled to be held next March, according to a statement issued by Hashimi’s office on Sunday. The statement, as received by IraqiNews.com news agency, quoted Hashimi as “having appreciated the Arab League‘s position, reflected by its Secretary General’s visit to Baghdad,” describing the visit as “a good attitude in support of the Iraqi people, being an evidence for the Arab League‘s keenness that the Arab Summit be held on its scheduled time in Baghdad.” “Iraq, on its part, is determined to confront all challenges to prepare necessary circumstances and prerequisites needed to hold the Arab Summit in Baghdad, successfully,” Hashimi said.
