IS MP describes forming Dijla OC as "Illegal, unconstitutional"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ziyad al-Tharib, of the Iraqiya Slate described the formation of security operations commands that are in all the provinces of Iraq as “Illegal and Unconstitutional.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Forming the security operations commands such as Dijla OC is illegal and unconstitutional where they must belong to a legal and constitutional institution,” noting that “These operations commands did not help in sustaining security.”

“The reason behind the security breaches is the weakness of the intelligence system,” he added, noting that “Controlling the security situation cannot be done by increasing the security systems, but by consolidating the intelligence system.”

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Iskandar Witwit, stated “The constitution allows the government to form the security operations commands in the areas that lack security and also to conduct military operations by the order of the central leadership.”
