Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate refused the increase of the members of the board of Commissioners of the Independent High Electoral Commission to 15.

The Spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated in a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “The IS is increasing its efforts to insure the complete independence of the new IHEC by not increasing its members by those who are not independents and belong to the political blocs.”

“We do not believe of the necessity of increasing of the members of the IHEC because it creates allies of the unemployed undersecretaries that support the political blocs,” she added.

“There are intentions to amend the law draft of the current IHEC and making use of the laws that are followed in most of the world countries,” she pointed out, calling the political blocs to “Expedite nominating the new members of the IHEC on the basis of proficiency and integrity.”
