Al-Iraq BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Al-Iraqiya Bloc summarized today its vision on the national conference due to be held. The bloc proposed the formation of elder committee that will work on dismantling the current crisis and achieving national partnership as soon as possible, as well as respecting the constitution till be amended. Spokeswoman Maysoon al-Mussawi said, in a statement, copy received by IraqiNews.com, that the bloc submitted its vision to President Jalal Talabani. The national conference was initiated by President Talabani and called, too, by Kurdish region president Masoud Barzani and Ammar al-Hakeem, as well as other political personalities. Al-Iraqiya Bloc proposal of the committee it should consist of all political entities, in addition to independent personalities. It was decided to hold the conference in Baghdad at the end of this month to discuss the question of deputy premier Saleh al-Mutlaq demotion and the attendance of Iraqiya bloc to the meetings of the parliament and the cabinet. President Talabani and parliament speaker Usama Nujaifi called on 27 December last for convening a general national conference to deal with the pending questions related to the government administration. Kurdish region president Barzani, also, called on 19 December last to hold a similar conference to avoid the destruction of the political process in the country. Al-Iraqiya Bloc demanded the release of innocent detainees, removal of all military appearances from the streets and against its members, then to discuss the reasons for not achieving the national partnership as proposed by president Barzani, and in accordance to the Iraqi constitution, as well as adopting a statute for the parliament, achieving balance in government and the political reform document which was approved by the parliament in its previous round. It confirmed the necessity to lay down a road map for the political process in Iraq towards stability and tranquility, provided the respect of the constitution till its amendment by national consensus. The bloc stressed that all reasons for tension should be removed and the attendance of all figures that countered dictatorship who established the new pillars of the political process in any suitable Iraqi city with proper atmosphere, as was done in Arbil city. It referred that Arbil embraced the national dialogue of the political entities, which led to the formation of the national partnership government according to an agreement signed  among all political formations. But added that this agreement was not implemented because some of the parties did not implement its terms, so Iraqiya believes that all shall return to the main patron of the agreement out of political responsibility. Iraq is moving into a severe political crisis after accusing vice-president Tariq al-Hashimi with terrorism and issuing an arrest warrant against him, in addition to Premier Nouri al-Maliki’s decision to demote his deputy Saleh al-Mutlaq, who are both leading members in the Iraqiya bloc. Added to all that previous differences on security posts, internal differences between Iraqiya and State of Law blocs for Erbil agreements and charges that Premier Maliki is governing the country unilaterally.
