Jaafari, USIG discuss reconstructing Iraqi infrastructures


Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafari, hosted the US Inspector General of Iraq Reconstruction, Stewart W. Bowen, at his office in Baghdad on Wednesday.

A statement by Jaafari’s office recieved by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday cited that ”During the meeting, Jaafari discussed with the US Inspector General the means of reconstructing infrastructures in Iraq and the services which can be offered to Iraqis.”

The statement added that ”Jaafari stressed the importance of upgrading the level of services like electricity and potable water as well as contributing in building schools and develop hospitals in addition to maintenance of sewage systems and roads.”

Jaafary emphasized ”The importance of encouraging and developing the local industry by training and qualifying the Iraqi cadres through establishing training centers inside and outside Iraq in order to establish State institutions on advanced bases.”

According to the statement ”The US Inspector General confirmed that he will seek to develop the plans of Iraq reconstruction to contribute in developing the infrastructure and providing municipality services.” \
