Jaf demands eliminating torture in prisons

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Member of the Human Rights Parliamentary Committee, Ashwaq al-Jaf, demanded the Iraqi Government to activate the principle of incentives and punishments to deal with those who practice torture against prisoners and detainees in Iraq.

In a statement received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), she said “This phenomena has been displayed on TV repeatedly but the justification comes to describe these acts as personal violations,” calling the Government to stop these acts which violate the Human rights in Iraq.”

“Those who commit these violations should be punished because they defame the reputation of Iraq towards the World and give a negative image about the situation in Iraqi prisons,” she urged.
