Jihad: Political disputes behind postponing provincial elections

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hasan Jihad, of the Kurdistani Alliance pointed out “The political disputes are behind postponing the elections of the Provincial Councils rather than the financial allocations.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The general budget was endorsed with allocations for the PCs elections,” noting that “If the Independent High Electoral Commission decided to conduct the elections, there will be financial allocations for these elections.”

“The political crisis hinders the electoral process,” he added.

Mp Jihad expected “The political blocs to resort to conducting early elections if they do not reach settlement for the crisis.”
