Jouburi intends to summon Electricity Minister in next parliament session

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc, Qutaiba al-Jouburi, announced that he will collect signatures of the members of parliament to summon the Electricity Minister, Karim Aftan, when the parliament holds its next session.

In a press statement by the media office of the bloc, he stated “The electricity performance this summer witnesses the repetition of the same miserable performance of the last years which is considered as a dangerous indicator because more than 25 billion USD were spent for the electricity since 2003.”

“The Iraqi citizens are wondering about the benefit of the huge budget which increases every year and did not help to develop the electricity network,” he concluded.
