KA MP calls government not to interfere in preference of independent commissions

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Ruz Mahdi, of the Kurdistani Alliance assured that the not interfering in the performance of the independent commissions is a main part of the success of the political process.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “There is a parliamentary committee conducting the investigation over the corruption issues in the Central Bank of Iraq where we need to make sure about the corruption issues against the Governor of the CBI, Sinan al-Shibibi, because his case is a judicial one.”

“The CBI is not an ordinary institute because it is one if the economic basis in Iraq and if those accusations were true, we would have to punish all the corrupted officials regardless their posts,” he added.

“The current policy of the government in dealing with the independent commissions was one of our concerns that we always mention,” he pointed out, calling “The government not to interfere in the performance of the independent commissions.”

Earlier, the Council of Ministers tasked the head of the Financial Supervision Department, Abdul Basit Turki, to run the CBI as a substitute for the current Governor of the CBI, Sinan al-Shibibi.
