KA opposes exploiting IA forces in internal political disputes, says Tayib

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistani Alliance stressed “The necessity of providing the Iraqi Army forces with suitable weapons to be qualified to protect the country,” assuring that “The IA forces must be kept away from attacking any foreign sides and must not ??? exploited in the internal political disputes as it was in the previous regime.”

The spokesman of the KA stated to IraqiNews.com “The accusations for the Kurds of being against providing the IA forces with suitable weapons are groundless,” noting that “Our stance is the opposite because we are Iraqis and we have this interest in getting a strong army to be able to protect the country.”

“The Kurds have concerns about using this army in the political disputes or against the citizens as it was done by the previous regime,” he added.

Earlier, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki announced that he visited Russia to hold deals for arming the Iraq Army in addition to sustaining the military cooperation.
