KA seats: KDP 29, PUK 13

BAGHDAD /Iraqi News A source from Kurdistan Alliance (KA) on Sunday said that its 42 seats will be allocated as follows: 29 seats for Massoud al-Barazani’s Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and 13 for Jalal al-Talabani’s Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The remaining 14 seats won by the Kurds were allocated as follows: eight for the Change Movement, four for the Kurdistan Islamic Union, and two for the Kurdistan Islamic Group, according to the source. The Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC) has recently announced the names of the winners in the legislative elections. The results were announced on Friday (March 26) with former prime minister Iyad Allawi’s al-Iraqiya bloc obtaining 91 out of the parliament’s 325 seats, followed by incumbent Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki’s Dawlat al-Qanoon (State of Law) with 89 seats, the Iraqi National Alliance (INA) with 70 seats and the Kurdistan Alliance with 43 seats.
