Khuzai, UK Ambassador to Iraq discuss bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Vice President, Khudhaiyr al-Khuzai informed the British Ambassador to Iraq that the political developments in Iraq are not worrying where the constitution guarantees the freedom of expression and demonstration in compliance with the legal regulations of the state.

A statement by Khuzai’s office cited on Wednesday that “Khuzai received at his office in Baghdad, the British Ambassador to Iraq, Simon Collis, where they discussed the bilateral relations between both countries and the latest updates in the region.”

He stressed during the meeting the “legitimacy of some of the demonstrators’ demands which are in focus among the governments’ interests.”

For his part, Collis expressed his appreciation for “The Iraqi government’s good dealing with the demonstrations and its efforts to meet their demands, confirming the UK’s willingness to develop the bilateral relations with Iraq in all fields.”
