Kurdistan Region deals with Iraqi citizens as foreigners, says Mayahi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leader within the White bloc, Aziz al-Mayahi, called “The President, Jalal Talabani, to interfere to change the way in which Kurdistan Region deals with the Iraqi citizens.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “It is unacceptable that Kurdish citizens are free in any Iraqi province while the citizens of these provinces are dealt with as travelers coming from other countries or foriegners when they visit Kurdistan Region.”

“The citizens of other Iraqi provinces should get a residence permission first to be able to register a vehicle or a real estate in their names,” he added.

“This attitude violates the constitution because Kurdistan Region is a part of Iraq thence the citizens do not need residence permission in their country,” he concluded.
