Kurdistan Region denies reports of Barzani’s request for President Post

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The Presidency of Kurdistan Region denied the reports over the request of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, for the post of the President of Iraq.

A statement by the spokesperson of the presidency of Kurdistan Region, Omid Sabah, quoted him as saying “Some media outlets mentioned that Barzani called for the post of the president of Iraq because it is an electoral merit for him.”

“All those reports are groundless because after the fall of the previous regime he was requested to have this post, but he always refused that,” he concluded.
