Kurdistan RegionG: Davutoglu enters Iraq by visa of Iraqi embassy in Turkey

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Government of Kurdistan Region stated that the Turkish Foreign Minister, Ahmed Davutoglu, has entered Iraq after having “a visa by the Iraqi embassy in Turkey.”

The Iraqi government condemned Davutoglu’s visit to Iraq without any prior notification, considering this visit as “Violation to the sovereignty Iraq”, holding Kurdistan RegionG “The consequences of this visit.”

A statement by Kurdistan RegionG received by IraqiNews.com cited Kurdistan RegionG respects the sovereignty of Iraq since the Region is a part of Iraq and the Kurdish people is an important part of the Iraqi People and the sovereignty of Iraq is important to us as it is important to the Federal Government and the Iraqi people,” noting that” Davutoglu and the accompanying delegation has arrived to Erbil through Erbil International Airport after having the visa from the Iraqi embassy in Ankara which shows the respect of the Turkish officials to the sovereignty of Iraq and following the international protocols.”

“There was not any violations to Iraq by Davutoglu to Kirkuk province because it is an Iraqi province even if it is within the disputed areas where the visa that the delegation has authorizes them to visit any Iraqi province,” pointing out “Davutoglu’s visit to Kirkuk aimed to consolidate the Iraqi unity among all the constituents of the province and it was not for a political purpose,” he concluded.
