 Kurdistan RegionG PM, US Congress delegation discuss enhancing bilateral relations

Arbil (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister of Kurdistan Region, Najevan Barzani, described “Adopting dialogue and observing the Constitution as being the last resort for resolving all the political problems in Iraq in addition to considering the political disputes in light of the current situations in Iraq as normal matters.”

A statement by the Kurdistan Regional Government reported “Barzani received, on Wednesday evening, a delegation from the US Congress that included each of Senator John McCain, Senator Joe Lieberman and Senator Lindsey Graham.”

Barzani stressed Kurdistan Region’s commitment to the previous political agreements and its adherence to the Iraqi Constitution.”

As for the Syrian events, Barzani added “We respect any resolution taken by the Syrian people to determine their future,” confirming that “Any change in Syria should be democratic and ensure the rights of all Syrian communities especially the Kurds community.”

“At the conclusion of the meeting the US delegation emphasized the continuity of the bilateral USKurdistan Region relations, hoping to settle the pending issues between Baghdad and Arbil within the framework of the Iraqi Constitution,” the statement concluded.

Earlier, a reliable source has announced to IraqiNews.com, on Tuesday, the arrival of a delegation from the US Congress to Baghdad on unannounced visit in advance.
