Kurdish Change Movement charges National Union Party of inciting workers

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com:  Kurdish Change Movement (Kuran) spokesman charged un-named circles in the Kurdish National Union Party, headed by President Jalal Talabani, of inciting the Workers Communist Party to file a suit against the Movement’s Chairman Nousherwan Mustapha.   Spokesman Mohammed Tawfeeq Raheem told IraqiNews.com that case was raised following a gun fight between members of the two parties in 2000, where some casualties were reported.   Mustapha was the second in command in the National Union Party at that time.   Raheem added that the Movement will deal with the case in “a legal fashion.”   The Kurdish Change Movement holds 8 seats in the Iraqi Parliament after withdrawing from the Kurdish alliance, attributing this withdrawal to non-response of the Kurdistan authorities to a reform programme.   The Movement announced on 20 December last it would not participate in the new Iraqi government, headed by Premier Nouri al-Maliki.
