Kurdish government to be handed over next October

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: It is expected that the Kurdish government will be handed over to the Kurdish Democratic Party next October, Party sources said today. The source told IraqiNews.com that “according to the strategic agreement signed between the two parties, the term to hand power from one party to another will be finished in October next.” “Under which circumstances however, remains unknown,” the source added. According to the strategy, each of the parties will govern for two years, in addition to the presidency of the parliament. Member of the Kurdish National Party Saadi Pira told IraqiNews.com that “the agreement stipulated that each party will govern and have the presidency of the parliament for two years, but this is to be decided by the political bureaus of both parties.” RM (TP)/SR 628
