Kurdish MP calls parliament chairmanship to question deliberately absent MPs

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahdi Haji, of the Kurdistani Alliance called the parliament chairmanship to activate its role completely regarding the attendance of the MPs to the sessions of the parliament and questions those who deliberately absent.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said ” The internal system of the parliament determines the vacation days for the MPs for each legislative term where each MP can have seven days as vacation days in the first legislative term and five days in the second one.”

“The system has also mentioned the illness vacation and the problems that may hinder the MPs from attending the sessions,” he added.

“Some MPs deliberately absent from attending the parliament session without any justification where the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, has to question those MPs,” he pointed out, noting that “The parliament chairmanship must consider some procedures over this issue to have an effective role in endorsing the law drafts,” he concluded.
