Kurdish MP describes collecting signatures to withdraw confidence from Nijaifi as "Reaction"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mahma Khalil, of the Kurdistani Alliance described collecting the signatures to withdraw confidence from the Parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, as “A reaction for the project of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) , he stated “What was announced over collecting 120 MPs’ signatures to topple Nijaifi is a reaction for the attempts to topple Maliki and I think that Nijaifi is neutral and fair in holding the parliament sessions.”

“The parliament, in the next term, will have the last word over all the disputes such as withdrawing confidence or not,” he added, expressing his hope that “Meetings between Maliki and his opponents to be held soon because they will result in settling the crisis.”

Earlier, MP, Qutaiba al-Jouburi, the head of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc pointed out “The members of the Iraqi National Alliance managed to collect signatures of 120 MPs for withdrawing confidence from the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi,” assuring that “The stance of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc is not determined yet about this issue.”
