Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MPs of the Kurdistani Islamic Alliance and the Change bloc called to “reform the parliamentary committee concerned with following up the application of article 140 of the constitution over the disputed areas.”

The spokesperson of the Change bloc within the Kurdistani Alliance, Latif Mustafa, stated in a press conference that “The reduction of the members of the committee from 17 to three members and absence of representative for Kirkuk province within the committee is considered as a constitutional breach.”

“The KIA and Change bloc object over forming the committee and call to have representatives of the Kurdish opposition and for Kirkuk province as stated in the article,” he added.

Earlier, the committee of article 140 has announced nominating MP, Mohsin al-Sadoun, as its head and MP, Mushriq Naji as a deputy head, assuring that “Its observatory role will start next week.”
