Kurdish-Turkish agreement to ban PKK from using Iraqi territories

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Turkey’s deputy foreign minister said on Tuesday he has agreed with Kurdish President Massoud Barzani to ban elements of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) from using Iraqi territories in launching attacks on the Turkish army. “An agreement has been reached with Barzani to prevent PKK fighters from using the Iraqi territories as a base to launch attacks on the Turkish army,” he said in statements quoted by IraqiNews.com. He said he had fruitful talks with Barzani on security agreement in Kurdistan. He said he will hold a meeting with al-Maliki later to update him with the agreement’s details with the Kurdistan.
