Kurdistan Democratic Party insists to apoint Nichervan Barzani to replace Barham Saleh

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A Leading element in north Iraq Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has said on Sunday that the KDP insisted on the appointment of a KDP Leader for the post of Kurdistan Premier, after the end of the assignment of Barham Saleh, adding that the most popular candidate for the post was Nichervan Barzani. “The KDP shall lead the Premiership of Kurdistan Region’s government, now occupied by the leading element of the other Kurdish Party, thePatriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Barham Saleh,” the KDP leader, who asked not to be named, told IraqiNews.com news agency, addingthat the most popular candidate for the post is Nichervan Barzani. “The KDP shall lead the (Kurdistan) government with the beginning of the new year, and would discuss the circumstances in the Kurdistan Region with PUK leadership in the forthcoming few days,” he added. Kurdistan media sources have reported recently that PUK, led by Iraq’s President, Jalal Talabani, would hand over the chairmanship of the Kurdistan government to the KDP at the end of the current month, according to a strategic agreement, concluded between both Parties, confirming the exchange of the Kurdistan government and Parliament between both Parties, during each half electorate session. They also stressed that KDP Chairman and Kurdistan Region’s President, Massourd Barzani, had  assigned Nichervan Barzani with the mission of carrying out a dialogue with PUK to settle the issue of restoring the Kurdistan Premiership from PUK.133
