Kurdistan Region VP visits Kirkuk

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Vice-President of Kurdistan Region, Kosirt Rasul, visited Kirkuk province and met its Governor, Najim al-Din Karim, on Monday.The Media Office of Kirkuk Governorate reported in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “The VP of Kurdistan Region assured his support to Kirkuk province and praised the efforts in providing the services and implementing the projects in the province.””The visit aims at supporting the resolution of Tuz Khormato Local Council to be re-joined to Kirkuk province since the resolution serves the interest of people in Tuz Khormato district,” the statement added.The Tuz Khormato district was under the administration of Kirkuk province during the seventies period till 1976 when some administrative amendments were conducted and the district was joined to Salah-il-Din province along with four others districts.Tuz Khormato district, which is mostly dominated by Turkmen community, undergo many terrorist operations and the people of the afflicted district blame the Federal Government and Qaeda organization for these terrorist attacks. \END\
