Kurdistan’s Endowment Ministry denies issuing fatwas for killing Christians, Yazidis

ARBIl/IraqiNews.com: Kurdistan’s Ministry of Endowment on Friday denied issuing a fatwa calling for killing Christians and Yazidis. “Media website reports lately referred that Mullah Farzand Mizouri, Imam of Harir district in Arbil, issued a fatwa in a Friday speech calling for killing Christians and Yazidis, which pushed journalists and writers to call on the Endowment Ministry to stop such threatening fatwas,” said Kurdistan’s Endowment Ministry’s statement received by IraqiNews.com. “The Imam denied talking about Christians and Yazidis in a speech over the past18 months,” the statement said “the last time he commented about Yazidis was about the killing story of a Yazidi girl which many imam spoke about in their preaches”. The Yazidi girl was stones to death after her family discovered she had been married to a Muslim man and moved to live with him. “All Imam’s Mizouri’s fatwa talked about pace and co-living in Kurdistan region,” the announcement added.
