Maliki, Allawi, Jaafari, discuss acceleration of govt. formation:

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: Iraq‘s Prime Minister Designate, Nouri al-Maliki, the Chairman of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi and the Chairman of National Reform Trend, Ibrahim al-Jaafari, have discussed in Baghdad on Saturday night, necessity to accelerate the formation of the new government, reiterating its support through boosting trust among different political components, according to a statement by Jaafari’s office on Sunday. “Jaafari had conferred with Maliki and Allawi on Saturday night, and their meeting had discussed necessity to accelerate the formation of the new government, through boosting trust among political components and the formation of institutions that would serve the interest of the establishment of the State,” the statement, copy of which landed in IraqiNews.com news agency said. The statement pointed out that “the meeting had also discussed the future strategies, in order to find a powerful platform on which Iraq can stand, in order to strengthen its position on both regional and international levels, on the basis of the exchange of interests and avoiding common dangers.” Noteworthy is that an Iraqi parliament source had stated to IraqiNews.com on Saturday that “a meeting would be held between Prime Minister Designate Nouri al-Maliki and the Chairman of al-Iraqiya Coalition, Iyad Allawi, in Ibrahim al-Jaafari’s residence on Saturday night to discuss the assigning of the post of Vice-President to the Leader in al-Iraqiya Coalition, Saleh al-Mutlaq.
