Maliki condemns Tremseh Massacre in Syria

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki condemned Tremseh city incident in Syria.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Office, received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), quoted Maliki as saying Saturday “The horrible massacre that took place recently in the town of Tremseh in the province of Hama in Syria raised the feelings of anxiety and indignation, and this heinous crime which we strongly condemn from any party should constitute an additional incentive for everyone to abandon violence, murder, revenge and terrorism in solving problems.”

He added that “This crime and other atrocities in Syria should urge us all to step up the pace to find a peaceful solution to save Syria from serious slides and achieve the hopes of the Syrian people in the free secure and stable life.”

More than [200] persons were killed last Thursday in Tremseh area in Rural Areas of the Syrian Capital Damascus.

Number of Syrian cities for more than a year witness violence between the Syrian regular army and gunmen in addition to popular demonstrations and protests calling for changing the regime in Syria.
