Maliki: Dismissing Dabbagh related to corruption of armament deal with Russia

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced that dismissing the former spokesperson of the government, Ali al-Dabbagh, is due to the corruption issue related to the armament deal with Russia.

In a press conference held at the Cabinet building, Maliki said “Dabbagh’s dismissal from his post is related to the armament deal with Russia and the corruption accompanied it,” warning from “Unanticipated procedures to those who call to withdraw the confidence from the government.”

“Kurdistan Region is the hindering side to conducting the deals over running the security file in the disputed areas where the deal was the Peshmerga has to secure Kurdistan Region and the federal security forces have to secure the other areas, but Kurdistan Region requested to keep five military divisions in those areas without keeping any of the federal security forces,” he added.

“The request of Kurdistan Region cannot be done because the constitution allows the government to deploy the security forces in all the Iraqi areas and did not allow Kurdistan Region to deploy any security element in any area outside of its borders,” he pointed out, warning the “Peshmerga elements from deploying in the disputed areas,”

Maliki accuse Kurdistan Region of creating the media tensions over the armament deal with Russia to prevent arming the Iraqi Army.”
