Maliki, Hakim meet over security pact

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: The head of the Supreme Islamic Iraqi Council (SIIC), Abdelaziz al-Hakim, on Thursday received in his office in Baghdad Premier Nouri al-Maliki and discussed with him the Iraqi-U.S. long-term security pact. “They tackled developments in Iraq at all levels, and the Iraqi-U.S. security pact,” said a release that was posted on the SIIC’s web site. “This agreement aims at organizing the withdrawal of the Multi National Force (MNF), and at controlling their activities during the coming period of their presence in the country,” the release quoted al-Maliki as saying.
