Maliki statements on est. regions “tense” – Kurdish MP

ARBIL / IraqiNews.com: A Kurdish Alliance MP described the statements of Premier Nouri al-Maliki as “tense,” which was considered “strange” by the Kurdish leadership.   MP Mahmoud Othman told IraqiNews.com that “the Kurdish leadership will abide by the constitution, particularly on matters related to the establishment of the regions.”  Last Thursday, Maliki expressed his rejection of anything that harms the unity of Iraq and the stability of the political situation.  He criticized the idea of establishing regions in the country.  Othman added that these statements will not complicate the relations between the State of Law and Kurdish Alliance.  RM (TS)/SR 504
