Mass grave with 55 soldiers unearthed north of Kuwait

BAGHDAD / IraqiNews.com: A mass grave containing the remains of 55 Iraqi soldiers was unearthed north of Kuwait, an official spokesman for the Kuwaiti interior ministry said on Thursday. “The discovery followed the formation of a team from the Criminal Investigations Department to search for human remains in mass graves,” the Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) quoted Brig. Mohammed Hashim al-Sabr as saying. “The team acted upon information from the Kuwaiti National Committee for the Missing and Prisoners of War as well as the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) regarding a mass grave of Iraqi soldiers in the northern part of the country left from the time of the Kuwait Liberation (Gulf) War of 1991,” Sabr added.
