Minister of Electricity involved in constitutional violations, says Awad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The member of the Oil and Energy Parliamentary Committee, Uday Awad, pointed out that “The Minister of Electricity, Abdul Kareem Aftan is involved in committing violations for the constitution.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The current crisis of the electric power is caused by the corruption.”

“Aftan does not have the resolution in dealing with the companies contracted with his Ministry to oblige them to implement the items of the concluded bids,” he added.

“Aftan committed 27 violations for the constitution where most of the bids are signed at his office in Amman, the Jordanian Capital,” he stressed.

“The General Inspector of the Ministry, Ala Muhi al-Din, is supported by the Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs, Hussien al-Shihristani, where the latter prevent the parliament from hosting Muhi al-Din,” he concluded.

Iraq is suffering from a crisis concerning the electric power despite the huge amounts allocated for this sector due to corruption.
