MoP pledges to renovate Christian worship houses damaged by terrorism

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation, Ali Yusif al-Shukri reviewed with the Head of the Christian Endowment Ra’ad Emmanuel, the investment projects related to the Endowment.

A statement by the Ministry cited “Emmanuel showed to Shukri the size of devastation caused to churches and worship houses by terrorism,” stressing the need to “renovate these worship houses and rehabilitate the old ones taking into account the historic and cultural value of these holy places.”

“Shukri expressed his support to the proposed projects, promising to support these projects when preparing 2013 plan,” the statement concluded.
