Moscow asserts its “rejection” to divide Iraq
(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed his country’s rejection to divide Iraq, stressing the need for the Iraqis to specify their own destiny.
Lavrov said in a speech during the Russian Youth Forum reported by the agency, “Russia Today” and followed up by IraqiNews.com, “The Middle East and North Africa region have transformed into a hotbed of terrorism and violent extremism.”
Concerning Iraq, Lavrov stressed, “Russia’s refusal to divide it,” adding that “Iraqis must determine their own destiny.”
