MP: Barzani threatens to withdraw from government if Maliki grants Change bloc ministry

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hafal Saed, of the Change bloc assured that “The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, threatened the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, to withdraw from the government if the Change bloc is granted a ministry.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki accepted this threat in order to form the current government and to achieve the goals that the government was formed for.”

“Barzani insisted on granting all the ministries to the Kurdistani Alliance and to isolate the Change bloc from the political process, so the Change bloc did not get any ministry,” he concluded.

Earlier, Barzani denied Maliki’s statements, in an interview with a Kurdish Satellite Channel that “Barazani objected granting a ministry to Change bloc and threatened to withdraw from the government if Maliki did so.”
