MP calls parliament to investigate over not holding meeting of committee of Article 140

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hafal Saeed, of the Change bloc called the parliament to investigate over the reasons of not holding the meeting of the executive committee of Article 140 of the constiution for more than a year ago and oblige it to hold a meeting within a time limit.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday, he said “The article 160 of the interior system of the parliament states that permanent and temporarily committees where the Article 71 has also states that an observatory committee to be formed to observe applying the Article 140 of the constitution.”

“This committee was formed a year ago, but it did not hold any of its meetings where this is considered as a defect in the internal system and the observatory role of the parliament,” he added.

“All know that there is an executive committee for Article 140 that works without any observatory role where we are calling to conduct the investigation,” he concluded.
